Make your affirmations practice more effective with these tips

Practicing affirmations is a very useful method to manifesting your desires and achieving success. Just like many other things, there are good practices and not so good practices to follow when doing affirmations. Here are some guidelines for doing affirmations effectively.

PRESENT TENSE Affirmations should be stated in the present tense. This adds to the effectiveness and impact of the affirmation. For example ‘Everyday in everyway I am getting healthier’. This affirmation states that this is happening in the present.

SHORT AND SPECIFIC It is a good idea to keep your affirmations short and to the point. This way it is easier to say, the power of the affirmation is concentrated and the sub-conscious mind picks up short sentences much easier than long wordy sentences.

REPETITION Make sure that you do sufficient repetitions of the affirmation. The more you repeat an affirmation, the stronger the impact on the subconscious mind and the stronger the neurological imprint on the brain.

EMOTIONS Doing affirmations without emotions is like not giving the affirmation any energy. When you do affirmations weakly, you are making the affirmations weak. When you do it with emotion and power, the force of the emotion will give the affirmation energy. Doing affirmations with emotion shows your belief in the affirmations, your conviction and your determination for the affirmation to materialize.

POSITIVE STATEMENTS State your affirmations in the positive. As much as you can, do not use negative statements or words in your affirmations. For example, don’t say ‘I will not fail’ instead say ‘I will succeed’. You should affirm for what you want.

PERSISTENCE Having persistence when doing affirmations is very important. When we do affirmations, we cannot expect to see results immediately. It needs some time to show it’s effect. Be diligent and persistent even if you do not see any results. Just because you cannot see it doesn’t mean that nothing is happening.

VISUALIZING As you are doing the affirmation, visualize it as well. See it happening in your mind. This adds the visual element to your affirmations practice. Typical affirmations practice only involve the auditory (sound) and kinesthetic (feelings) elements. Doing visualization will result in a more complete effect of the affirmation.
